Our college has set up the industrial systems engineering program that is a composite education program which is organized by fur special departments and those advanced courses at 4-year course from fourth- and fifth-year regular course to the advanced courses. This educational program was examined by Japan Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (JABEE) in the field of engineering science (fusion and compound / new sphere) in 2004, and accredited in 2005. This program was authorized as educational system assured the content and the level as an engineering education with global standard.
In this program which becomes comprehensive beyond specialized courses, we show an image that a technical expert should be trained up, have common aims of learning and education, and adopt similar educational methods. We call this program gthe mountain range type educationh. It has four gpeaksh respectively according to some specialties, a gfooth as those base is thick-layered, and so four special courses regarded as ghillsideh are connected each other.
Any student who completes this advanced course is admitted as a graduate who has gotten a university-level education and also knowledge that is above the standard to be demanded from the society. In the highly technological society, they are expected to take an active part as the practicing engineering possessed creativity and development-ability.
A professional accreditation system whereby a nongovernmental organization called Japan Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (JABEE) can fairly evaluate whether programs in engineering education are conducted by institutions of higher and accredit those programs that reach such levels.
The aim of JABEE is to raise the level of engineering education programs in Japan to a global standard.
