National colleges of technology are schools for higher education, with founded, around after 1962 (Showa 37), for the further promotion of various industry and the education of science and technology in Japan. When established, Hachinohe National College of Technology started with three departments which are: the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the Department of Electrical Engineering (Electrical and Computer Engineering since 2005) and the Department of Industrial Chemistry (Chemical and Biological Engineering since 1991). The Department of Civil Engineering (Civil and Environmental Engineering since 1995) was added in 1968. Then our school opened the Advanced Engineering Course in 2002, including Mechanical and Electrical System Engineering Course, Chemical and Biological Engineering Course, and Civil and Environmental Engineering Course. In 2004, Hachinohe National College of Technology was reorganized into one of the schools under the direction of Institute of National Colleges of Technology, Japan.
