Advanced Engineering Course


Today's advanced science and technology and the diversification of social needs require practical engineers who are equipped with the ability to develop creativity. Furthermore, they should be experts who have a deeper understanding and can recognize and solve various technological problems with a wide perspective. In 2002, the Advanced Engineering Course of Hachinohe National College of Technology was established to respond to this social need and to offer a more advanced professional education in two years in addition to the regular five-year education system. Utilizing the characteristics of the practical education of the five-year program, we use experts with practical knowledge and research-development capability to instruct students at a higher level of learning.

The Advanced Engineering Course consists of three special courses: Mechanical and Electrical System Engineering, Chemical and Biological Engineering, and Civil and Environmental Engineering. Students will obtain a Bachelorfs Degree in Engineering from a National Institution by obtaining the required advanced engineering credits and passing the examination held by the national organization. Incidentally, this advanced course has had the main curriculum of gIndustrial systems engineeringh program accredited by Japan Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (JABEE) in 2005.


Education and research emphasizing graduation theses research and advanced experiments

In order to stress personal training so that our graduates will be qualified to practice in the field of engineering and promote research and development, we take a serious view of the graduation theses research and advanced experiments. Upon entry, a student will wrestle with high level research toward developing his or her thesis, under the guidance of a well-trained teacher.

Strengthening educational foundations and broadening views

In order to reinforce visibility and participation internationally, English and Mathematics are required subjects. Courses in social studies and technical courses are cross-referenced.

Small and intensive classes support continuing student development

We believe that small classes and intensive instruction provide continued support for our educational views for this advanced program.
