Advanced Course

Objectives

With science and technology progress and the diversification of social needs in recent years, practical engineers with a deeper specialized knowledge as well as research and development abilities of setting tasks and solving problems from a broad perspective are required.

In order to answer to this social need, National Institute of Technology, Hachinohe College established its Advanced Course in April 2002, aiming at implementing two additional years to its education system to teach even higher level of specialized education.

The Advanced Course fosters practical engineers able to lead the future manufacturing and system making by providing higher knowledge and skills based on and making us of the five years of practical education in the Regular Course and by cultivating humanity, creativity and research abilities.

It is composed of four courses, Mechanical System Design Course, Electrical & Computer Engineering Course, Material & Biological Engineering Course and Civil Engineering & Architectural Design Course.

After completing this Advanced Course, students can receive a Bachelor in Engineering by passing the examination of the National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Enhancement of Higher Education (NIAD-QE), making them eligible for graduate school.

Characteristics

Education & research that emphasizes special research and advanced experiments

Emphasis is placed on special research and advanced experiments to foster human resources with solid practical, creative and research abilities. In particular, students are allocated a faculty member laboratory as soon as they enter the course, enabling them to tackle high level research in each specialized field.

Education to strengthen foundations and to broaden horizons

In order to foster international communication skills and to strengthen mathematical analytical ability, English and mathematics are compulsory subjects. In addition, social studies classes and cross-disciplinary subjects in specialized fields broaden students' horizons.

Small classes valuing continuity from the Regular Course and future potential

While preserving continuity with the 5-year Regular Course practical education, we offer lectures and classes for specialized subjects necessary for future research and development. Class sizes are small for a precise and detailed education.

Mechanical System Design Course

Mechanical Engineering is the foundation of core industries. We foster practical and creative engineers with advanced research and development abilities, learning about the theory and application of machine design, processing, control, electrical and electronic equipment, materials and devices, information and communication technologies, etc.

Metal fatigue experiment

Electrical & Computer Engineering Course

Exlectrical Information Systems Engineering is the foundation of core industries. By learning about the theory and application of energy/electric power systems, electronic properties/electronic devices, IT/intelligent robot technology, we foster practical and creative engineers with research and development abilities.

Solar Panel

Material & Biological Engineering Course

We foster practical and creative engineers with advanced research and development abilities, learning about chemistry and its application related to the development and production of new materials, including biotechnology using biological functions for material production.

Polymer synthesis experiment

Civil Engineering & Architectural Design Course

By learning about specialized subjects related to social infrastructure such as environment, planning, construction and hydraulic engineering, we foster creative general construction engineers and development research engineers, able to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society that can protect and revive the environment, safely and securely.
